WHEN THE GAZE IS GONE
VANAGLORIA
Vanagloria explores the emptiness behind the need to be seen.
Beauty, status and appearance exist through the gaze of others, but what remains when that gaze disappears?

The shooting translates vanity into a cold, minimal visual language: stripped-back spaces, distant figures and reflective surfaces create a world where beauty is still present, yet somehow deprived of meaning.

ATMOSPHERE
The visual research moves between coldness, absence and restrained decadence. The environments feel suspended in time: distressed plaster, metallic surfaces, empty architecture and desaturated light.

The imagery searches for a tension between luxury and emptiness, softness and metal, intimacy and distance.

Faces are distant, tired and almost detached from their own beauty. Imperfect make-up, direct gazes and undone styling contrast with the elegance of ANGELICA MONTINI’ s pieces.
